A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us last night to mark VE Day. It was a truly special evening of remembrance and celebration, and we’re so grateful to all who made it possible.

🎧 Cllr Alex Hamilton for being a fantastic compère and DJ.
🎖️ Cllr Craig Morris for sharing his moving experiences from his time in the forces.
🙏 Our Chairman Cllr Emma Fisher, Jean from the Seniors group, Marta from St George’s Church, a representative from the Cadets, Tom, and Taff for their poignant tributes.
🎶 Piper Rod and trumpet player Alan for leading the procession of Caroline Chisholm Cadets to the beacon and of course the Cadets themselves.
🔥 Simon Greggory DL for the honour of lighting the beacon.
🌟 A huge thank you to our brilliant Events Manager Gemma for organising the event, and to the parish council staff and councillors Emma, Jeff, Malcolm, and Julie for their support on the evening and behind the scenes.
We were especially honoured to welcome some veterans on the night, your presence made the evening even more meaningful.
We hope everyone who attended enjoyed the celebrations as we came together to remember and give thanks to those who gave their lives so we could live ours today. ❤️
